We also have older and smaller sizes,
refurbished, sometimes.
Our usual procedure is to
ask you to bring in your Laptop/Notebook for us to do the replacement to the new disk in the price. (We
can transfer the contents from the old unit if OK to the new unit if we keep your old drive
also.)
After we fit the new
larger drive it looks just like before but with the increased space on the
drive.
If we do not fit the
drive for you, we can
only accept return of it
under warranty, and you will need to complete Return
Authorisation Form for HDD to be returned to supplier
for replacement! This could take some time to complete. (possibly
10-20+ working days)
Unless we install it, how do we know what you have done
with it in trying to install it?
If we install the HDD,
then we accept warranty responsibility, and we will swap it over with a
new unit for you while you wait.
Most older
Laptops can be upgraded to some extent if the correct type of second hand drive is
available.
The problem is that new later HDD's are
now such high capacity that the BIOS of some early machines wont allow them to operate.
Early high capacity drives are hard
to obtain that will suit, while still increasing on the originally supplied drive.
Notebooks less than 3 years old are all
able to be upgraded to much larger sizes.
We try to have most available sizes of
HDD's in stock.
For Hard drive repairs or
backups, we will endeavour to advise you on the best way to proceed.

gives an easily cleaned and maintained surface that is a better dust free
environment to work effectively in. Many workshops use
epoxy flooring for a
professional well maintained appearance.
