A/C
Adapters, Power Cords and many other names are applied to the thing that
plugs into the wall socket and into your Laptop or notebook / WebBook to charge the battery
and make your laptop work if the battery is low.
|
Does
not matter what you call it, it will always be a source of concern
because the fact is they don't last much longer than a couple of years in
use.
|
| The
reason could be that they are required to do a hard job of converting
the AC 240v down to between generally 15 to 20V DC in such a small
package that is always probably slightly stressed. The insides of these
small black boxes is actually the Highest Technology of the laptop
outside the CPU these days as manufacturers try to make them smaller and
more powerful.
No point carrying a small laptop if the AC Adapter is the
size and weight of a house brick like they were 15 years ago.
|
|
Anyway we
always have most types of Laptop chargers in stock to suit most Laptop
or Notebook brands.
|
| If
we dont have exactly the AC Charger that comes with your laptop we can probably
find another brand AC Adapter that will do the same job. |
| As long as
the Voltage is the same and the Current (AMPS) is similar
or greater,
the only other
important factor is the plug that goes into the laptop socket. This must
be exactly the same for a different AC Adapter to work correctly, and that is
why we insist you should bring in either the laptop or the old power
supply to make sure the plug and socket are compatible with each other. |
| If
the Voltage and Plug & Socket are correct, then the current will
only make a difference to the time taken to charge the battery if it is reasonably
similar.
