(Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line)
uses your existing phone line to deliver
a broadband Internet connection. You can
enjoy a telephone conversation at the
same time as receiving data without
noticing any difference to either
services. |
The availability of ADSL is dependent on
a number of factors, including the
quality of your existing phone line and
the distance from your nearest telephone
exchange. If available in your area you
can apply for either 256k or 512k. The
difference to your old modem will be
amazing. |
ADSL doesn’t just deliver speed. Here
are some of the other major reasons for
becoming an ADSL subscriber:
- no need to
dial-up to access the Internet
- no need for
a second line - you can be on the
net and never miss a call
- real-time
e-mail, receive messages as soon as
they arrive in your mailbox
- play games,
listen to music and watch videos in
real time.

Definition of "Exceeding Download Allowance"
SHAPING
Shaping offers unlimited data download, with
dialup connection (42 kbs) speeds after agreed
monthly download allowance has been reached.
EXCESS
When monthly download limit is reached
connection speed is not changed. Rather an
excess will be charged for every Megabyte of
data downloaded. |
General Notes:
The customer understands and acknowledges that;
- new connections & relocations are subject
to ADSL availability and port availability.
- lengthy delays can occur when ADSL ports
are unavailable, this is unavoidable.
- if ADSL is available, a minimum of 5
working days is required for service connection
to be completed.
- Australis aims to provide the most reliable
service possible, but cannot be liable for any
loss of service, despite whose fault it is.
- a minimum contract term applies to all ADSL
connections and the contract term cannot be
shortened.
- the following fees apply to ADSL variations
and are payable for each request;
- Relocation of service within 6 months
of connection $176.00, older than 6 months
$99.00
- Line Speed Change (Up or Down. eg
256-512-256) $55.00
- Contract Termination (Cancellation of
Account before contract expiry) $77.00 +
remainder of contract term.
- all monies are payable on application, and
if your phone line does not support ADSL,
refunds will apply.
- IP Addresses are dynamically allocated
unless a Static IP Address is selected.
- all prices listed include GST.
Transfer Notes:
If you have a current ADSL Broadband connection
with another provider you can transfer this
connection
to Australis without lengthy disruptions to your
service.
Only available if your current ADSL Broadband
provider is a participant for this process.
Minimum 6 month contract applies to all
transfers.
Do not cancel your account with your current
provider before applying for a transfer of
service or the
transfer process will fail. Transferring to
Australis does not automatically cancel your
contract with your
current provider, it is your responsibility to
check the terms of your contract.
